About Us
Our Vision:
We envision a service where every unaccompanied asylum-seeking child and young person can experience stability, continuity, and belonging within a safe and nurturing home.
At Nuu Home Group, we aim to provide a complete pathway of care for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) — from children’s homes and supported accommodation for 16–17s, through to care leaver homes for 18–21s. Our mission is to offer consistent, compassionate support that grows with each young person, meeting their changing needs as they move towards independence and adulthood.
Nuu Home Group stands as a beacon of hope and support, helping young people form new relationships, develop essential life skills, and build a strong foundation for a successful future. We are committed to transforming lives through genuine care, cultural understanding, and opportunities that promote confidence, dignity, and self-belief.
Founded and led by an experienced social worker with over 10 years of practice across children’s, adults, and safeguarding services, Nuu Home Group embodies the principles of empathy, professionalism, and consistency. Our founder recognises that true progress comes from stability, trusted relationships, and continuity of care — values that underpin every home we create.
At Nuu Home Group, we don’t just provide accommodation; we build pathways to independence, family, and future — because what we offer is more than just a house.
Our Core Values:
-
Compassion and Respect: We treat every child or young adult with dignity, compassion, and respect. Understanding their unique experiences and challenges is at the heart of our care approach.
-
Empowerment and Independence: We believe in empowering UASC youth by equipping them with essential life skills such as budgeting, hygiene, cooking, and work experience. Our aim is to foster their independence and confidence.
-
Holistic Support: For our children’s homes and supported accommodation (16–17), our dedicated staff provide 24/7 support, including appointment accompaniment, educational guidance, and structured activities that promote social integration, stability, and confidence. For our care leaver homes (18–21), we offer keyworker-led support focused on developing independence, managing responsibilities, and maintaining positive emotional and physical wellbeing.
-
Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusion: We celebrate the rich diversity of our young people, embracing their languages, faiths, and traditions. Our culturally sensitive practice ensures that every child or young person feels understood, respected, and supported to maintain their identity while integrating into a new community.
-
Safety and Wellbeing: Safety is the foundation of everything we do. We work proactively to safeguard against risk and promote stability, ensuring that every child or young person feels secure and supported. Our care leaver homes provide gender-specific environments that recognise and respond to the differing needs of young men and young women, promoting safety, confidence, and positive development.
